Jr. Programmer / IT Support Specialist in BOSTON, MA

1. Focus on improving our internal processes and applications for data processing, analysis, and emailing. This will involve designing and running data transformations in SQL Server and Access and creating applications in VB.net to automate these processes. (approx 30% of time) 2. Reduce administration time of applications we develop and host for our clients by determining labor intensive processes, and designing and programming administration screens that address these issues. (approx 30% of time) 3. Provide technical support for our employees. You will coordinate all support requests and develop a system for follow-up and resolution to effectively meet employee needs. You will provide first line support, and ensure issues that require escalation are appropriately handed off to other department members or contractors. Experience: Job Responsibilities a) Take the lead in coordinating and providing first line computer hardware and software technical support for Windows 2000/XP/2003 systems for our staff. b) Be the point person in the company for managing marketing mailings and e-mail reminders for our assessment applications. c) Create and run data processing and transformation routines in Microsoft Access and SQL Server. d) Develop VB.net web and windows interfaces for assessment administration, tracking and reporting. e) Support day to day operation of TCP/IP based Active Directory network, including Exchange, SQL Server, web servers, Palm devices and backup operations. f) Maintain website and intranet. Job Requirements Undergraduate computer science or equivalent degree with 1 to 2 years on-the-job experience, including skills in the following areas: a) Solid background in object oriented software design and development b) Developing web and windows applications with ASP.net c) Creating relational databases, views and stored procedures with SQL Server d) Experience working with customers or non-technical users to troubleshoot computer problems, particularly hardware issues, Microsoft Windows performance issues and Microsoft Office Other Preferred Skills e) Familiarity with IP networking f) Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server and IIS configuration To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
