Systems Analyst/Tester (#8847841) in Boston, MA

Quantronix needs a Systems Analyst/Tester to work at our Client's site. Our client is a large investments firm, handling over $ 500 Billion in assets. The Systems Analyst/Tester's to assist in the support, analysis and testing of the new Pricing system. The new Pricing system supports the Firmwide initiative to decommission the HP3000 by moving security pricing off the mainframe. The consultant systems analyst/tester will work on requirements analysis, functional specifications, systems and integration testing, as well as operational support. Primary responsibility will be development of test plans, execution of those test plans and documenting results. Secondary responsibility will be gathering business requirements and documenting functional specifications. Additional responsibilities will also include ongoing support, problem resolution and responding to ad hoc requests. The consultant systems analyst will work directly with end users in the Investment Data Services (IDS) group, software developers and database architects in IS, software and data vendors, as well as other business systems analysts and QA/UAT specialists.

Requirements:

* A minimum of 5 years experience in systems analysis and QA. * A minimum of 3 years of IS experience supporting investment applications. * Strong understanding of software development practices. * Experience developing test plans based on functional specifications. * Relational database experience and strong SQL skills. * Skilled at analyzing & troubleshooting complex systems and data. * Strong communication and documentation skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Additional Qualifications: * Experience working with market data vendors and pricing data would be considered a strong plus. * Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL is desirable. * Automated testing experience using applications such as QTP is highly desirable. * Familiarity with iterative development methodology and *Use Cases* for capturing business requirements would be a plus. Note: Either of the following profiles would be suitable - A QA person who has done some BA work. Or - A Business Analyst who has done alot of systems testing. - In either case we need someone who is highly adept at data analysis.
