74941 The role of this position is to provide direct support to the Manager of Applications Development by actively managing a portfolio of development group projects. The Project Manager will supervise administration of major initiatives and work closely with the Development Manager to allocate group resources, produce a wide variety of project documentation and generally support a team-based approach to completing projects. The position will have high visibility within the company and require a motivated, organized, and results-oriented individual to drive progress in a dynamic, growing organization. In addition, the project manager will be expected to contribute individually to the development of content and strategy, champion and enforce the group's change control processes, and take ownership for the resolution of application support issues.

Core Job Functions:

- Lead the development group's project management efforts consistent with application development methodology and the reporting needs of the Applications Development Manager. This can include authorship of business requirements documentation, project plans, workflow diagrams, resource allocation tracking, issues logs, and ad hoc reports to communicate the status of the group's initiatives portfolio.

- Daily interaction with the group's engineering, development, and content functions to coordinate resource use, assess progress and identify obstacles, and help fine-tune the group's focus based on current priorities.

- Liaise with other Business areas (Finance, Marketing, Risk, Product Development, Legal) to capture end user requirements on new projects, facilitate integrated content planning and reuse of key content online, and report progress and issues back to business stakeholders.

- Assist the Development Manager in promoting and expanding various "shared service" offerings to our affiliated investment managers.

- Develop a strong knowledge of Investment Operations support functions and lead the resolution of issues assigned to the development group.

- Assist the Content function of the group by ensuring that routine data collection, maintenance and quality assurance processes are documented and current, and that content deliverables are completed in a timely manner consistent with update calendars.

- Contribute to the long term strategic planning for the applications development group, including conducting research into new tools and technologies, gathering cost data, and preparation of recommendations and planning documentation to support the Applications Development Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience, preferably within a Financial Services, Consulting or Information Technology setting.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in technical writing and documentation.

- While the candidate must possess a "generalist's" breadth of experience and diversity of interests and skills, familiarity with one or more of the following specific areas would be valuable: website and/or applications development, database design/administration, the systems development lifecycle, business systems analysis, eBusiness strategy and marketing.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Project 2000 software.

- Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a desire to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment that emphasizes team-based development.
