Connexion Systems & Engineering, a Boston based IT and Engineering Solutions Company immediately seeks individuals with the following skills: Job# 6063 Principal QA Engineer Position Summary: We are seeking a Principal QA Engineer with extensive experience testing web applications with emphasis on Windows platforms built on C#/.Net, Oracle, SQL Server, XML, ASP. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record testing web portals and a strong knowledge of QA industry practices with emphasis on planning releases and mentoring staff. As the lead engineer, you support the QA Manager?s activities in managing releases through participation in specification walkthroughs, estimating testing tasks and managing junior staff throughout the process of test execution. Your duties will include hands-on testing of complex projects with aggressive deadlines. Knowledge of testing mid-tier and back end applications is required. Knowledge areas must include: Knowledge of operating systems and web technologies. Experience testing User Interface (UI) features in various stages of the project. Create and maintain testing documentation. Knowledge of software development methods and lifecycle. Primary Responsibilities Performing both white box and black box testing utilizing both manual and automated test scripts to verify products meet or exceed specifications and quality objectives. Lead in the design & planning of product releases from a QA perspective Execute regression tests; maintain scripts for the new enhancements and software updates. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical data. Finding, tracing, and thoroughly identifying defects; generating defect reports; working with engineers to resolve defects; and verifying corrective actions Adept at identifying technical bottlenecks and potential software limitations Actively participating in the software verification planning & test case design Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. This position requires previous experience managing testing tasks within a QA team environment. 3 years experience testing multi-tiered software applications; e-commerce experience desirable Proficient with relational databases and the ability to write SQL queries in MS SQL. Detail oriented individual with an ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary Must have meticulous attention to detail and strong organization skills.
