Senior Systems Analyst with Equities expertise in Boston, MA

This Global Equity Trading Technology team is urgently seeking a Senior Systems Analyst with Equities expertise to support the design and development of custom applications and the design and development of an interface for a vendor trading package. This role involves working with development team and the business users to understand requirements, analyze options, and design solutions for equity trading projects. The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the research and validation of production enhancements, issues and fixes. In addition, fielding production issues and routing them to the appropriate support person are part of the job responsibilities. The Global Equity Trading Technology team develops and supports custom applications used by: 1. The Equity Trading desks globally. 2. Applications used by middle and back office operations teams in Boston and overseas. 3. Supports other business critical trading systems. A successful candidate for this position MUST possess: ? The ability to work effectively with both business customers and project team members. ? Experience with software lifecycle and methodologies. ? Strong interpersonal, relationship management and facilitation skills. ? Strong analytical and organizational skills. ? Excellent written and oral communication skills. ? The ability to multitask and pay attention to details. ? VERY STRONG Investments Industry experience with an emphasis on Equities Trading. ? Direct experience supporting EQUITIES TRADERS would be very helpful. Duties and Responsibilities: ? With supervision, learn the business process, analyze and reconcile requirements from different EQUITIES TRADING desks, and design appropriate solutions. ? Document requirements and design, assist with technical design. ? Investigate and resolve requirements and design issues. ? Become a subject matter expert for EQUITIES trading applications. ? Work with QA team to create test plans and execute test cases. ? Provide support to developers and testers as needed. ? Develop user documentation and deliver training. ? Evaluate and research defects or production application issues. ? 5 years of experience in the INVESTMENTS industry. ? 5 years of systems analysis experience (minimum). ? Prior experience working on EQUITIES TRADING projects. ? Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills. ? Excellent oral and written communication skills. ? Thoroughness and high level of attention to detail. ? Strong multi-tasking skills. ? Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
