75663 We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SQL 2000/2005 database architect/developer to join our software development team.
The well rounded individual should have the ability to design, maintain and implement major portions of our existing data warehouse in addition to having an excellent knowledge of SQL Server 2005 SSIS, Analysis Services (OLAP), Reporting Services and/or Integration Services. The qualified candidate should be well versed in agile software development methodologies, possess excellent technical problem solving skills, programming and unit testing skills. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well within a team environment. Candidates should have excellent client facing skills and be able to articulate technical issues. Candidates will be expected to help shape technical documents with moderate to complex designs with minimal guidance and fully understand and utilize the appropriate tool set.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating logical data and physical models based upon functional specifications of business requirements as provided by the Systems Analysts and other members of the project team.
Responsible for designing and developing data manipulation processes using best-practices SQL coding techniques which are performance optimized.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining existing ETL processes (SQL 2005 SSIS packages) for existing data warehouse including on-call support, as necessary.
Responsible for designing new and re-factoring older systems under deadline pressure with minimum supervision.
Responsible for Designing and developing databases optimized for reporting.
Responsible for successful completion of code deliverables within projects.
Responsible for ensuring that code meets specifications.
Responsible for unit testing and debugging own code.
Responsible for communicating and defending design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of systems to team members and development Architect.
Responsible for diagnosing data related issues.
Technical Skills:
5+ years of Microsoft SQL experience.
Understanding and ability to work with both OLAP and OLTP Relational Databases.
Experience with ETL processing using SSI.
Experience writing and tuning stored procedures.
Experience with Applix TM1 a plus.
Desired Background/Education:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience.
Strong leadership skills and experience.
Proven ability to deliver quality work on schedule.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
