Junior Programmer in BOSTON, MA

Our 6 member survey and application development team supports our consulting business with custom hosted surveys, assessment tools and human resource related web applications. We are looking for a junior programmer with an undergraduate computer science degree or equivalent experience with at least a year of work experience developing applications using ASP.net and SQL Server. Our intellectually challenging and informal atmosphere requires a balance of self-management, teamwork and accountability. You will typically be working on two or three client projects at a time with a small internal project team and some sub-contracted programming and graphic design resources. You will contribute to quality assurance and testing, as well as hands-on programming. We are currently developing our next generation of web based applications, and are looking for a programmer who has strong object oriented design skills, and the enthusiasm to learn about our consulting business, and its products and services. This will enable you to expand the capabilities of our development platform and make sound long-term decisions on the design of our products. Job Responsibilities a) Design and program web components for our application development platform (HR.net) using VB.net, ASP.net and SQL Server. b) Configure applications on HR.net with XML and JavaScript. c) Develop complex reports using Crystal Reports and Excel for automatic generation in HR.net applications. d) Design and program windows utility applications for system configuration and data processing using VB.net. Experience: a) Computer science degree or equivalent experience b) Minimum 1 year experience developing web applications with ASP.net and SQL Server c) Experience with reporting tools, preferably Microsoft Access and/or Crystal Reports d) Experience using XML and XSL. e) Experience working with customers or non-technical users to develop solutions to complex business issues. f) Solid background in object oriented software design and development.
