Manager of Quality Control in Boston, MA

KENDA Systems is currently assisting our client in the Boston, MA area in their search for a Manager of Quality Control with at least 10 years of experience in an Industrial testing laboratory and a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position. Must have knowledge of chemical, physical, metallurgical and electrical testing. The candidate must possess strong analytical problem solving, organizational and leadership skills. Must have a good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization and with customers. Needs to have the skills to work on a team project to effectively execute a project. Must understand safe work practices and have demonstrated a proven track record of putting safety before quantity. Needs to understand employee policies and practices. Must have demonstrated a proven track record of implementing effective quality system improvements.


Responsibilities:

Manage analytical testing, electrical testing, and metallurgical inspection to ensure the timely, accurate, and precise analysis of production and R&D samples.

.Provide leadership and review the work of Quality Control with Inspection of Supervisors.
.Manage Quality Control Laboratory work assignments and monitor effectiveness of laboratory performance.
.Ensure the department procedures are maintained in accordance with the ISO-9001 standard. Ensure training requirements are met and documented for all laboratory personnel.
.Ensure consistent product quality by uniform application of procedures. Conduct gage R&R studies and use the data to drive improvement.
.Provide technical support for internal and external customers.
.Ensure that H.C. Starck products are tested and certified to customer requirements.
.Drive toward improving and expanding laboratory methods through the effective use of statistics and by improving equipment capabilities.
.Conduct rigorous investigations of customer complaints, out of control conditions, and process upsets with the goal of identifying the root cause and implementing effective corrective actions.
.Work with other H.C. Starck sites to standardize testing procedures.
.Proactively seek ways to decrease testing costs.
.Minimize testing and inspection cycle times.
.Meet regularly with internal customers to review their needs and Quality Control's performance.
.Manage on-time shipment data and distribute to entire site monthly.
