As a Project Manager, you will lead systems initiatives sponsored by the Finance, Legal Services, and
Corporate Operations departments. You will be managing all aspects of solution delivery. You will also contribute toward
project activities, such as requirements analysis and specification. The Project Manager will play a key role in helping
to define and advance multi-year systems strategy. You will work on both multi-year and shorter-term (6-12 month) projects.
This position is a leadership role; you will be reporting to the Manager of Corporate Systems. The team size is currently 7 FTEs + 3 contractors, but that number will expand quite rapidly. You will apply domain expertise, a proven project management track record, and a thorough understanding of strategic objectives, to ensure that solutions are aligned with business needs that compliment departmental architectures.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Plan and manage projects, budgets, and timelines in a structured way
- Project Manage teams of 4-8, comprised of developers, designers, QA, and business analysts
- Create and communicate project schedules with input from involved IS teams and business partners; manage issues and risks throughout project lifecycle
- Lead and coordinate the work of systems analysts, software developers, database architects, and product vendors to design and implement solutions
- Help to define longer term technology strategy for the team, factoring in current and target business architectures and process models across Finance, Legal Services, and Corporate Operations
- Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities to better align technology with evolving business processes; propose solution alternatives aimed at minimizing custom development and ongoing maintenance costs
- Be an advocate for business processes, good ideas, and cohesive arguments for direction/strategy
- Project Manage outsourced, off-shore, near-shore, and vendor professional services groups on
- A revenue/billing financial accounting system
- Integration with Oracle Financials
- A workflow collaboration platform using EMC's Documentum
- The creation of an Oracle Data Warehouse: Data Modeling, ETL, and Data Marts
- A Business Intelligence reporting system using Cognos or MicroStrategy

Required Background/Experience
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of professional experience
- 7+ years of project/program management experience
- Demonstrated experience in project management and business analysis for large systems initiatives and the ability to contribute to the development of comprehensive financial systems strategy
- Experience with iterative agile software development methodologies, such as RUP, and applying Use Case analysis to capture system requirements
- Strong understanding of revenue and financial accounting applications
- Project management or implementation experience in ALL the following areas:
- Multi-tier web applications
- Revenue/AR financial accounting system
- Data Warehousing
- Business Intelligence reporting
Major Pluses to have
- Financial Services Domain knowledge
- Experience with a workflow/collaboration platform, preferably EMC's Documentum
- Implementation experience with Oracle RDBMS, Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials, Cognos, and MicroStrategy
- Exposure to ETL and Data Marts is a plus
- Strong consultancy experience
