Portfolio Accounting Lead Systems Analyst in Boston, MA

Summary


As a Portfolio Accounting Lead Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for requirements, systems analysis, testing, and project management for system initiatives and enhancements to support the Global Data Availability Program within Investment Administration. As we increase our expansion into global markets, our systems require improvements to support the way we manage, process, and distribute data. You will take a senior role within the Investment Administration Systems team to help take our systems to the next level with regards to regionalization, data improvements, and the reduction of our dependencies on a local processing cycle.


Reports to: Investment Administration Systems Team Leader


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Define the Global Offices' requirements for information availability and delivery. This will require interactions with other groups within Information Services as well as business units.

  • Identify and recommend appropriate tactical and strategic solutions for timely Global Office information delivery and related processes.

  • Play a leadership role in defining the next generation architecture for our back-office systems.

  • Coordinate the work of systems analysts, software developers, and database architects to implement robust technical solutions.

  • Participation in a Batch Cycle Optimization working group focused on strategic batch-cycle improvement that will align with Global Data Availability requirements.

  • Plan and execute functional testing of new systems and enhancements.

Experience: You must possess the following qualities:

  • Strong client relationship, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Strong Systems Analysis skills.

  • Strong Leadership skills. You will manage matrixed teams - there will initially not be direct people management in terms of hiring and performance reviews.


Required Background/Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related discipline.

  • 10+ years of Systems Analysis experience in the financial services sector. This is a very senior role.

  • Experience with Investment Management systems with specific emphasis on back-office systems including Corporate Actions, Pricing, and Portfolio Accounting.

  • Understanding of relational databases and working knowledge of SQL.

  • Experience coordinating Information Service initiatives within a matrix organization.

  • Strong project management, application, and process management expertise and experience.


Major Pluses to have

  • Global experience

  • Exposure to iterative methodologies such as RUP

  • Proficiency with UML

  • Vendor relationship management experience including working with technology/process outsourcing partners.
