Global Trading Manager of Fixed Income Systems in Boston, MA

Summary



As Global Trading Manager of Fixed Income Systems, you will be responsible for leading a team of system analysts within Information Services (IS). Your team is responsible for driving the execution and delivery of technology solutions that align with the Fixed Income Trading business unit requirements. You will work closely with your colleagues in Global Trading Systems Software Engineering, Architecture, Quality Assurance (QA) Testing, Program Management, and Production Support.



The Global Trading Systems trading platform currently supports Fixed Income, Currency, and Mortgage Trading. We are extending this system to incorporate significant new functionality such as derivatives.


Reports to: Global Trading Manager within Compliance and Control Systems in Information Services


The resume of the Ideal Candidate would reflect the following:

  • You are currently a very senior-level manager working within the IT department of an Investment Management firm

  • The team you are overseeing consists primarily of systems analysts, but you also work very closely with resources in other departments

  • You and your team are currently supporting a trading platform and the business professionals using the platform


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partner with our clients in Fixed Income Trading to develop priorities, Information Services strategies, Plans, and business requirements

  • Oversee a team of 4-6 Systems Analysts, which includes consultants. You will work directly with your colleagues in Global Trading Systems Software Engineering to coordinate the efforts of approximately 20 software engineers (consultants and fulltime blend)

  • Work closely with Global Trading Systems Software engineering to develop estimates, plans, and staffing models

  • Manage and track the information services Budget for Global Trading Systems, Fixed Income

  • Prepare and Deliver weekly status reports as well as Project Review documents

  • Work closely with Global Trading Systems Program Management on staffing, execution, issue resolution and program process improvements

  • Work closely with team to adopt new WMC systems development methodology and standard deliverables

  • Develop goals, training and development plans for team members

  • Develop effective working partnerships with external vendors such as Trade web, MarketAxess, FX Connect, etc.

  • Participate in various in forums and events to stay current on emerging trading industry trends

  • Work closely with Global Trading Systems Equity team to share application enhancements, best practices, process improvements, technologies, architecture, knowledge repository, etc.

  • Refine estimation, planning, analysis, and testing processes

    • Work experience with offshore consulting firms

    • Methodology experience with managing iterative development projects

    Required Background/Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Services, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field

    • 10+ years experience in a systems role

    • Strong knowledge of buy-side trading

    • Experience in supporting business professionals in the investment services industry is essential

    • You must have a proven track record in building and leading Information Services teams, and in the successful delivery of large systems initiatives through the use of repeatable and scalable methodologies

    • Extensive background in supporting Fixed Income Trading

    • Demonstrated success in IT strategy development and implementation of large-scale
      solutions for Trading

    • Experience with Global Delivery and support

    • Experience managing budgets, contracts, and consulting engagements
